GSK the UK drug company faces charges for bribing Polish doctors

GlaxoSmithKline which is the largest drug company of UK supposedly bribed some doctors and now is going through a criminal investigation case in Poland, BBC Panorama has revealed.

Today some fresh evidences revealed that the money which was used for bribing was supposed to be spent on educating patients.

A regional manager along with eleven doctors is facing the charge for corruption that they indulged in during the time period between 2010 and 2012.

An ex- sales representative of the company mentioned that the doctors were offered incentives to promote the GSK's drug Seretide which is used for treating asthma.

The company mentioned that one employee who is disciplined is co-operating with the proceedings of the investigations.

One of the doctors has admitted the blame already. He has been charged a fine and has been given a sentence by which he has been suspended. He admitted that he had accepted a sum of £100 for a one lecture which he never delivered. He also said that it was only because of the pressure that came from the drugs rep of GSK.
