New Rules of Reform for public contract to Create Greater Opportunities for Small Firms

The chiefs of business have largely welcomed the fresh guidelines from the government which has been planned to make things easier for firms that are smaller in size to bid for public contracts.

Representatives of the small and medium enterprises have been argumentative about the Government sidelining all small firms from public contracts.

Nearly 75,000 people may have to go in for new insurance coverage as their insurer Setanta Insurance, has gone into bankruptcy in Malta. All these people who had insurance policies with Setanta have seen their premiums being lost and insurance cover expired.

A decision to dissolve the troubled Setanta insurance was quickly taken after an unexpected general meeting that took place in Malta.

Queen Distributes Maundy Coins at the Blackburn Cathedral

The Queen was joined by the Duke of Edinburgh as she distributed Maundy coins during the traditional annual royal service. A total of 178 people who were 70 years and above were given these coins as an appreciation for their work in community service as well as the church. It included 88 men as well as 88 women. Each of the recipients received one red purse of standard money along with one purse that was white containing silver Maundy coins.

This year the royal services took place at Blackburn Cathedral which is in Lancashire.


Large increase in new-build housing looks extremely challenging: Taylor Wimpey
